Ever wondered what would it feel like to travel back in time and experience the rustic countryside living? This summer we were fortunate enough to spend some days at our friends’ amazing house from the XIXth century in the town of Hudiksvall, in Hälsingland, Sweden. The unique farmhouse is one of the few historical buildings left in the area and is called Hälsingegård. Our friends exchanged their busy life in central Stockholm to living in the countryside raising chickens and greeting the cattle of cows across the road in the morning!
Every single room in this fantastic house reminds a museum with gorgeous antiques, old wallpapers, and unique furniture. One can only imagine all the stories it has to tell! As our friends also play both piano and cello, the classical music heard in the house made even more of a magical experience.
We enjoyed lovely sunsets in the garden or one of the patios, made some nice barbecues and our little Amelia enjoyed feeding chickens and playing around with other girls in what felt like a castle for her!
What makes the interior of the house so unique is the fact that our friend Andrea combined old antiques with modern Scandinavian design brands, such as Svenskt Tenn and its iconic elephant pattern, which can be found on many interior items in the rooms.
Are you more of a city person or a country living fan?
Xoxo,
Gabija
