About me

Gabija Jonsson is a postgraduate of International Political Economy from the University of Groningen, which is ranked among the top 100 universities in the Times Higher Education and QS World University rankings. Originally from Lithuania, she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Vilnius University. Her Bachelor’s thesis, titled “Development of Renewable Energy in Lithuania: The Impact of Interest Groups,” was published on the Lithuanian Green Party’s website.

For her Master’s thesis, Gabija explored the topic, “How Do Feed-In Tariffs Encourage the Rapid and Sustained Deployment of Renewable Energy? A Comparative Analysis of Germany and Lithuania.” She presented this work during the Hope XXL initiative in The Hague, Netherlands, where she had the opportunity to meet former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan. Additionally, she has recently completed courses in “Corporate Social Responsibility” and “Strategic Communication: Crisis Communication” at reputable Swedish universities.

Gabija, a skilled leader, was selected to participate in the ‘Upskilling for an Inclusive Future Program’ led by The London School of Economics and Political Science, where she earned a certificate in ‘Inclusive Leadership through Behavioural Science.’ As a communications expert, she has contributed to various research projects, annual Corporate Social Responsibility reports, official letters, and speeches for leaders. Her experiences studying and living in countries renowned for their high environmental standards—such as the Netherlands, Germany, and Sweden—have helped her develop expertise in corporate social responsibility, gender equality, and environmental issues.

Gabija has over ten years of professional experience in communications, marketing, and public relations for global companies, NGOs, and PR agencies. For the past eight years, she has lived and worked in Sweden, which ranks second in the overall Prosperity Index.
