Gabija Jonsson is a postgraduate of International Political Economy from the University of Groningen, classified in the top 100 of Times Higher Education and QS World University ranking lists. Originally Lithuanian, she holds a Bachelor’s degree in political science from Vilnius University. Her Bachelor Thesis ‘Development of Renewable Energy in Lithuania: An Impact of Interest Groups’ was published on the Lithuanian Green Party’s website. Her Master Thesis ‘How do Feed-In-Tariffs encourage the rapid and sustained deployment of renewable energy? A comparative analysis of Germany and Lithuania’ was presented during the Hope XXL initiative in Hague, the Netherlands, where Gabija met a former Secretary-General of the UN, Kofi Annan. Her recent academic achievements include completing ‘Corporate Social Responsibility’ and ‘Strategic Communication: Crisis Communication’ courses at well-established Swedish universities.
As a skilful leader, Gabija was selected to enrol in ‘Upskilling for an Inclusive Future Program,’ led by The London School of Economics and Political Science, obtaining an ‘Inclusive Leadership through Behavioural Science’ certificate.
As a communications expert, she has contributed to numerous research projects, yearly Corporate Social Responsibility reports, official letters, and opening speeches for the leaders. Studying and living in countries known for high environmental standards – the Netherlands, Germany, and Sweden, allowed her to build her expertise in corporate social responsibility, gender equality, and environmental matters.
Gabija has more than ten years of professional experience working as a Communications, Marketing and PR professional for global companies, NGOs and PR agencies.
For the last eight years, Gabija has lived and worked in Sweden, a country that is second in the overall Prosperity Index rankings.
With a huge passion for women empowerment, Gabija has spoken in numerous panel discussions and webinars.
